Government rolls out food voucher system to all 14 regions

The government is rolling out its food voucher system to all 14 regions following a successful pilot in the Oshana Region. According to the Namibia Press Agency, as part of the Commodity and Beneficiary Management Information System, an alternative drought relief delivery mechanism, the system digitizes and automates the food relief beneficiary system. Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah explained that beneficiaries will use vouchers to redeem food items at local retail shops.
