Bangladesh’s interim governemnt to be sworn-in

Background

 

Muhamman Yunus, the Nobel winner, will take oath as the head of Bangladesh’s interim government today. This comes merely days after Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign and flee the country. Yunus, widely regarded as Hasina’s rival, has appealed for calm as sporadic instances of violence continue to be reported from across Bangladesh. Our South Asia correspondent Neha Poonia has more.
