The Embassy of Portugal is organizing the opening of a photography exhibition entitled “These Stones Will Speak”, on the 5th of November, at 17h, at the Omashare Hotel, in Rundu – free admission and free of charge.

After the success of this photography exhibition in Windhoek, it is now an honour to itinerate it to the Kavango Region, Rundu.

This exhibition follows the workshop that took place in November 2023, during which the Portuguese photographer and anthropologist Carlos Barradas facilitated a five-day reflection and fieldwork with Namibian photographers on the theme of freedom and the role of photography in capturing historical moments.

This event is being promoted as part of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal, which occurred on the 25th of April 1974 and put an end to the dictatorial regime that had been in place in the country since 1926.

The photography exhibition will then continue open to the public from the 5th of November until the 22nd of November 2024, at the Omashare Hotel, in Rundu, where it can be visited at free entrance.

We are hereby sending enclosed:

  • The press release;
  • The poster of the event.

Looking forward to hearing and reading from you!
