The Bank of Namibia, in collaboration with the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), announces their co-hosting of the AFI Global Policy Forum in September 2025 in Namibia.
This forum will convene international thought leaders, policymakers, and regulators to propel financial inclusion to the forefront of the global agenda and support economic resilience and growth.
For the first time, Namibia will spotlight its strategic achievements in financial inclusion, giving prominence to the important role of policy innovations that have broadened financial services to individuals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The introduction of targeted frameworks and SME financing strategies has considerably contributed to integrating a more significant population segment into the financial ecosystem.
The GPF, a key global dialogue and collaboration platform, supports Namibia’s commitment to leveraging financial inclusion as an essential strategy for sustainable economic development and poverty alleviation.
It also establishes Namibia as a frontrunner in deploying innovative financial solutions that are pivotal for regional and worldwide economic enhancement.
The forum will facilitate high-level discussions and peer learning opportunities, which will attract over 700 delegates, including central banks, financial regulators, technology innovators, and other international stakeholders.
These engagements will focus on creating and implementing effective financial inclusion strategies that can be adopted globally.
Further details regarding the forum will be communicated in subsequent updates. The Bank of Namibia eagerly anticipates fostering substantial discussions that drive progress in financial inclusion globally.
