African leaders must rethink their reliance on foreign aid and focus on economic self-sufficiency. That’s according to Business and Economics Researcher Josef Kefas Sheehama, who argues that Africa should take lessons from U.S. policies under President Trump. he adds that while America prioritizes its own economic interests, African nations must strengthen regional integration, boost trade, and reduce dependence on external assistance. He warns that the U.S. has responded aggressively to the global shift away from the dollar, imposing tariffs and restricting aid, particularly on BRICS nations.
