The much anticipated Dr Hage Geingob Cup 2023 kicks off at the Independence Stadium tomorrow.
The ninth edition of the competition will feature a full day of action, including FC Ongos Ladies vs Gals & Goals FC, the Namibian Legends vs the South African Legends at 3 pm, and in the main match at 5 pm, the current Debmarine Namibia Premier League champions, African Stars FC versus the people’s choice, Eeshoke Chula Chula FC. The Legends game is creating a lot of buzz as there has been quite a history between the Brave Warriors and Bafana Bafana over te years. Bimbi Tjihero will captain the Namibian Legends who is coached by Rusten Mogane, himself a legend of Namibian football. Mogane was in charge of the Namibian National side during their golden year, the so-called “Class of 98”. Facing them tomorrow will be some of the biggest names of South African football – players like Teboho Mokoena, Lukas Radebe, Doctor Khumalo and Mark Fish.
Gates open to the public at 9 am, with Tickets at N$20 per person are available at NFA Soccer House or Webtickets.
