UK Conservative Party Receives Poll Boost After Tax Cuts

The UK’s governing Conservative Party has received a boost in the polls following tax cuts announced in the Autumn Statement. According to polling by YouGov for The Times newspaper, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt’s decision to announce broad tax-cuts ahead of a likely general election next year, has seen the Tory Party climb 4 points in the polls. But the opposition Labour Party remains firmly ahead, and some economists are taking a more critical view of the statement’s tax-cuts. From London Simon Gaitán reports.
