Italy notifies China that it’s pulling out of BRI

The Italian government has notified China that it’s pulling out of the Belt & Road Initiative or BRI, according to reports from multiple news outlets. Italy became the first and only G7 nation to join the BRI when it signed a memorandum of understanding with China in 2019.Here’s our Rome correspondent Giles Gibson with some analysis about the timing of this decision.
