Congress of South African Trade Unions says it is clear that the management of Wesizwe’s Bakubung Platinum Mine in North West does not care about its workers. More than 250 mineworkers affiliated with the National Union of Mineworkers have vowed to continue their sit-in underground. They are disgruntled over wage negotiations and retrenchments at the mine. Cosatu’s deputy general secretary, Solly Phetoe, told the SABC they are concerned about the safety of the workers.
