On Thursday, the Ondangwa Town Council officially delivered 231 fully serviced plots in the Omashaka informal settlement. Among this number, 37 plots were allocated to the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia. Ismael Namgongo, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ondangwa Town Council, highlighted that this endeavor aligns with the council’s five-year strategic plan. Namgongo emphasized the council’s commitment to addressing housing and land provision challenges. He noted that this initiative is part of cost-saving measures and mentioned the council’s staff expertise in executing similar projects, citing their prior work in other areas of the town.
