ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has stated that the party’s legal representatives have been directed to pursue legal action following the registration of uMkhonto weSizwe as a political movement. Mbalula stressed that the name is the property of the ANC as a military structure within the organization. Simultaneously, an unnamed member of the national executive committee has raised concerns about former President Jacob Zuma’s actions and remarks, noting them as divisive and reflecting a degree of indiscipline. The member conveyed to City Press that initiating action against Zuma might not be deemed worthwhile.
