Otjinene Village Council service 17 plots in 2023

Otjinene’s Village Council has been able to service only 17 plots amounting to N$1.7 million in the main area of the village due to financial constraints. Sylvester Kavita, the village council chairperson, revealed in an interview with Nampa on Monday that the limited funding has hindered their capacity to develop more plots, as the process of servicing plots requires substantial capital. Kavita further highlighted that Otjinene has managed to attract numerous investors like Shoprite and Bargains Building Suppliers. Consequently, much of the infrastructural development in the area is being facilitated by these investors rather than being undertaken directly by the village council.
