New number plates for National Assembly and National Council vehicles will now bear distinct green number plates

On Wednesday, Parliament made an announcement regarding a change in the identification of vehicles belonging to the National Assembly and National Council, effective from 01 January 2024. The statement revealed that these vehicles will now bear distinct green number plates featuring the abbreviations ‘LNA’ for Legislature National Assembly and ‘LNC’ for Legislature National Council. The purpose of this initiative, as outlined in the statement, is twofold. Firstly, it aims to clearly differentiate the legislature’s vehicles from others, and secondly, it underscores the significance of maintaining the separation of powers among the State’s three branches.
