SA’s Water and Sanitation Minister, Senzo Mchunu says his department is planning to deal with ongoing water crisis that South Africa is facing by minimal negotiations with water service authorities. Mchunu made the comments during a water imbizo at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal. The ministry’s spokesperson, Kamogelo Mogotsi says some of the water problems experienced in some communities could have been easily resolved had local authorities stuck to the basics of operations and maintenance of infrastructure.
