Oshana Region Governor Elia Irimari highlighted on Monday that the persistent drought situation has not only taken a toll on farmers and rural communities but has significantly impacted urban areas as well. Speaking at the food parcel handover ceremony by the Oshana Regional Council to three local authorities, Irimari expressed concern over the challenges faced by many families in accessing sufficient food and basic necessities, leading to heightened vulnerability and hardship. The drought relief program, coordinated by the regional council, has garnered registrations from a total of 12,790 individuals seeking assistance.
