In a significant move to bolster conservation efforts, the Legacy Landscapes Fund has pledged N$924 million to support the Skeleton Coast-Etosha bridge’s conservation area in North-Western Namibia. The agreement, formalized at Otjondeka in the Kunene Region, focuses on connecting two national parks and introduces the innovative concept of the ‘People’s Park,’ marking a new category in community conservation. The landscape, chosen through LLF’s inaugural open proposal call in early 2022, emphasizes community involvement in conservation efforts.
