In a commendable effort to empower and educate the youth in Tsumeb, 26-year-old entrepreneur Carlos Leonard has launched the non-profit organization ‘Joel Parks.’ The initiative, started this year, aims to provide free meals to unemployed youth, including those experiencing homelessness, while also imparting knowledge on food production. Leonard shared that the organization’s team serves daily meals to 30 to 50 unemployed youth. Following the meals, participants engage in counseling and education sessions focused on the significance of basic food production, recycling, and waste management. The multifaceted program aims to address both immediate needs and long-term skills development for the local youth.
