||Kharas Regional Council Faces Service Delivery Challenges Due to Absence of Management Committee

today24 January, 2024

Background

Joseph Isaacks, the chairperson of the ||Kharas Regional Council, expressed that the absence of the council management committee has impeded the council’s ability to provide services to the region’s residents. Speaking to council staff members on Tuesday, Isaacks highlighted that the executive functions of the management committee have been non-operational for the past eight months. The regional council has been without a management committee since December 2022, as the council struggled to elect two councillors to join Isaacks on the committee. The management committee plays a crucial role as the decision-making body in the council, responsible for resolutions regarding the region’s development.
