President Geingob is in good spirits amid cancer treatment

The Swapo party says President Hage Geingob is “in good spirits and is receiving good medical attention” for his cancer treatment. Last week, the presidency announced that President Geingob would start treatment for cancer after routine medical check-ups and a follow-up biopsy led to the detection of cancerous cells. It did not give more details on his diagnosis but said he would continue to carry out his duties. The BBC reports that Swapo deputy leader Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, confirmed that the President will continue to fulfill his duties while prioritizing medical treatment.
