South Africa’s Congress of the People says the higher stages of load-shedding show the ANC government is failing

South Africa’s Congress of the People criticizes the extended stage five load-shedding as further evidence of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s government inadequately managing Eskom’s affairs. COPE’s acting general secretary, Erick Mohlapamaswi, asserts that more than 14 years of load-shedding under the ANC’s governance have hindered economic growth and development. He emphasizes the risks posed to citizens’ lives and livelihoods, especially those unable to afford alternative power-supply options. The ongoing power crisis underscores COPE’s concerns about the government’s ability to effectively oversee Eskom.
