NamWater Awards N$935 Million Tender to Chinese Firm for Oshakati Water Purification Facility

The Namibia Water Corporation decides to award a N$935 million tender to Chinese company Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group for the construction of a water purification facility at Oshakati. Concerns arise as the winning bid is N$447 million more expensive than one of the competitors. Bid documents reveal that Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group initially submitted a bid of around N$790 million. Despite bids from eight other Chinese companies, the award goes to Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group for meeting the specified criteria according to reports.
