US border official becomes the first cabinet member to be impeached in nearly 150 years

Alejandro Mayorkas — the man in charge of governing America’s borders — has become the first US cabinet member to be impeached in nearly 150 years. Representatives in Congress’s lower chamber, the House of Representatives, voted narrowly on Tuesday night to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security, at the second time of asking. Republican Party lawmakers in the House allege that Secretary Mayorkas is failing to stem record flows of migrants across the US-Mexico border. Our correspondent in Washington Benji Hyer reports.
