Windhoek’s High Court denied Prosecutor General Martha Imalwa’s application to appoint South African curators as administrators of assets linked to incarcerated Fishrot suspects. The accused individuals contested Imalwa’s choice of appointing South African curators Johan Engelbrecht and Coenraad Stander of Icon Insolvency Practitioners (Pty) Ltd. Former justice minister Sakeus Shanghala, ex-fisheries minister Bernhardt Esau, his son-in-law Tamson Hatuikulipi, former Investec Asset Management Managing Director James Hatuikulipi, as well as Pius Mwatelulo and Ricardo Gustavo, implicated in the fishing scandal, advocate for the appointment of local curators Harald Hecht and Pierre Knoetze instead.
