Old Mutual Wealth takes great pride in unveiling its sponsorship of the prestigious Old Mutual Wealth Equestrian Development Series, underscoring a steadfast commitment to elevating its brand with innovation and fostering meaningful community engagement. The series, which kicked off last week, is the first of three events scheduled for the year, attracting a total of 120 riders thus far.

Wikus Fourie, CEO of Old Mutual Wealth, expressed his delight at the sponsorship, stating, “We are delighted to announce Old Mutual Wealth’s sponsorship of the prestigious Old Mutual Wealth Equestrian Development Series, showcasing our dedication to innovative brand elevation and community engagement. The profound parallels between equestrian sports and wealth management—precision, trust, discipline, adaptability, and excellence—are evident. As riders meticulously plan and execute strategies, Old Mutual Wealth navigates financial challenges with foresight and grace. This sponsorship celebrates shared values and underscores the company’s commitment to setting new benchmarks.”

Alida Reimer Cline, a committee member of Auas View Equestrian Club (AVEC), highlighted the significance of the sponsorship for the development of equestrian sport in Namibia. “Our mission is to contribute to the development of the equestrian sport in Namibia, with grass-root athletes being our main focus. The AVEC Committee is grateful for the sponsorship received from Old Mutual as it enabled the Club to host training shows of a different magnitude. AVEC is now set to host three subsequent events, Qualifiers for an overall Development League Champion,” Reimer Cline added.

“This is truly an enticing motivation for young and developing athletes. We have received 120 entries for the first leg and noticed an increase of 72% in dressage entries. We are already very excited and optimistic about the following two events,” Reimer Cline further added.

The equestrian sport promotes mutual understanding based on universal ethical principles and conduct in a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and fair play, emphasised Reimer Cline. “It is our hope that the Old Mutual Development Leg will induct young people properly into the sport as a worthwhile practice and that they will become more committed to its values. Through that, we are hoping to actively shape the mindset of a good Namibian citizen – making Namibia better one canter stride at a time.”

Old Mutual Wealth’s sponsorship of the Equestrian Development Series not only supports the growth of the sport but also strengthens community connections. The partnership presents exciting opportunities to enhance brand visibility and reinforce the company’s commitment to excellence, trust, and precision in wealth management.
