GOOD Party Joins Opposition in Motion Against DA Mayor Amid Allegations

today28 February, 2024

Background

The GOOD Party in South Africa has collaborated with other opposition parties to submit a motion of no confidence against DA-Drakenstein mayor Conrad Poole. The move comes in the wake of allegations suggesting Poole’s involvement in a pay-for-jobs scheme, where councillors allegedly paid kickbacks for lucrative mayoral committee positions. Keagen Gertse, representing the GOOD Party, states that the motion, scheduled for council hearing today, is a collective effort by the opposition to hold the DA accountable for their commitment to good governance.
