Calls Intensify for Enhanced Rural Electrification in Omaheke Region

today5 March, 2024

Background

Inhabitants of the Omaheke Region are actively championing the establishment of an electricity distribution body to amplify rural electrification efforts. These recommendations emerged from recent consultations with the National Planning Commission, underscoring the residents’ strong desire for improved rural electrification. Despite acknowledged efforts by the central government, there’s a collective call for more proactive measures. Additionally, while a significant portion of the population has access to clean drinking water and water for farming, there’s a plea for the maintenance and rehabilitation of aging boreholes.
