In a historic development, Minister of Higher Education, Education, Technology, and Innovation, Itah Kandjii-Murangi, inaugurated Namibia’s first National Space Science Council on Wednesday. Comprising six members, the council’s primary role is to provide guidance to the government on matters related to space science and technology policy, as well as regional and international instruments. The newly appointed members, including representatives from the Namibia Defense Force, academia, telecommunications, electronics engineering, environmental science, law, and information technology, are set to serve a three-year term. This initiative marks a significant step towards advancing Namibia’s engagement in the field of space science.
