Fishrot Trial Delayed Until April as Judge Dismisses Recusal Application

The Fishrot fishing quotas fraud, corruption, and racketeering trial is set to be postponed until at least April, following Acting Judge Moses Chinhengo’s rejection of an application for his recusal from the trial. Chinhengo dismissed the recusal application made by one of the accused, Nigel van Wyk, in a judgment delivered at the High Court in Windhoek Correctional Facility. The judge concluded that it was reasonable for Van Wyk to plead to the charges during court proceedings in December last year.
