today13 March, 2024

Background

South Africa’s Union federation, Saftu, has leveled accusations against U.S. President Joseph Biden, alleging that his recent actions concerning Palestine are primarily aimed at salvaging the reputation of the U.S. government. Saftu spokesperson Trevor Shaku asserts that Biden’s statements are strategically focused on preserving Israel’s global legitimacy and preventing further depletion of its reputation. Shaku criticizes Biden for what he perceives as a lack of substantial action to address the ongoing Palestinian plight, suggesting that Biden’s approach leaves room for additional Palestinian casualties.
