Background

During the bi-national commission held in Pretoria, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called for enhanced trade and investment cooperation between South Africa and Ghana. Ramaphosa expressed enthusiasm for sustained import-export relations and noted South African companies’ keen interest in expanding their investments in Ghana. The president welcomed collaboration opportunities in infrastructure and pre-chemical sectors. Emphasizing the need to reverse the recent decline in trade over the past four years, Ramaphosa urged for transformative measures to elevate trade relations to new economic and investment heights.
