Namibian Police Strengthens Capacity with Recruitment of Over 1,100 Cadet Constables

President Nangolo Mbumba, in his State of the Nation Address, announced the recruitment of over 1,100 cadet constables during the 2023/24 financial year, as part of the Namibian Police’s efforts to bolster its policing capacity. Additionally, six new police stations were constructed across various regions during the same period, further enhancing law enforcement infrastructure. The newly recruited cadet constables are complemented by the establishment of police stations in Tutaleni (Erongo Region), Nkurenkuru and Namasira (Kavango West Region) as well as Omatako (Otjozondjupa Region). President Mbumba also announced plans to recruit an additional 1,700 cadet constables during the 2024/25 Financial Year.
