The City of Tshwane in South Africa has emphasized its strict stance against tampering with vital infrastructure, deeming such actions criminal. This statement follows the damaging of the cross-border valve responsible for regulating water flow to the Ekangala and Rethabiseng areas in Region Seven. According to Lindela Mashigo, the city’s spokesperson, this damage resulted in reduced water pressure and ultimately led to a complete water supply disruption in the affected area.
