Transparency Concerns Lead to Suspension of National Youth Council Executive Director

Certain members of the representative council of the National Youth Council have voiced demands for transparency from the NYC board after a mid-way halt of an RC meeting in Ondangwa over the weekend. The meeting was abruptly called off due to the failure of NYC’s executive director, Calista Schwartz-Gowases, to provide the minutes of the previous RC meeting. Following these grievances and others, Schwartz-Gowases was suspended. This was followed by a press conference during which RC members raised serious allegations against her.
