These sessions are designed to involve residents in discussions concerning various service delivery matters, including by-laws, proposed rates tariffs for trading services, and the medium-term budget. According to Vusi Gumbi, spokesperson for the Council speaker, the IDP serves as a crucial tool for informing the metro’s executive about residents’ needs, facilitating budget allocations, and directing funds to entities for service provision.
