In a milestone event on Monday, the City of Windhoek marked the beginning of construction for 113 housing units in Goreangab Extension Four under its Informal Settlement Upgrading Pilot Project. Mayor Queen Kamati emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating that it officially launches the construction phase of 113 houses, supplementing the 694 units built since the project’s inception in June 2020. Kamati highlighted the collaborative nature of the initiative, noting the partnership between the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, the Khomas Regional Council, the National Housing Enterprise, and the City of Windhoek in driving this endeavor forward.
