Residents of Ward 109 in Cape Town, South Africa, are expressing outrage over the plans of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa  to relocate illegal occupants from the central railway line to Macassar. Prasa intends to relocate 5,195 households encroaching on the rail reserve in two phases. The agency has invested 643 million rand in rehabilitating the railway infrastructure. Ward 109 councillor, Peter Helfrich, has criticized Prasa and the implementing agent, the Housing Development Agency, for lack of transparency with residents.
