The Namibia Media Professionals Union has strongly denounced the reported assault of a female journalist by a male editor of a prominent newspaper. This condemnation follows the filing of a case of common assault by the alleged victim at the Otjomuise Police Station in Windhoek. According to a press statement issued by Namibian Police Force spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the incident occurred on April 1, 2024, at a residence in Khomasdal, where an argument between the individuals escalated into a physical altercation. As a result, the 30-year-old female journalist lodged a case of common assault against the male editor on April 2, 2024. Both individuals are reported to be employed by the same media house.
