Regional Council Chair Urges Action on Pothole Issue in Otjiwarongo

Marlayn Mbakera, Chairperson of the Otjozondjupa Regional Council, criticized Otjiwarongo municipality councillors for neglecting the pervasive potholes plaguing the town’s streets. During a recent meeting, Mbakera emphasized the detrimental impact on residents and called for urgent repairs to prevent hindrance to economic development. This follows a peaceful demonstration by over 300 taxi operators on March 19, highlighting dissatisfaction with the municipality’s service, particularly in road maintenance and the absence of designated taxi ranks.
