The Mayor of Usakos, Irene Simeon-Kurtz, has voiced worries regarding what she perceives as a sluggish response from the police following the tragic killing of a 29-year-old woman by her ex-boyfriend. In a press release issued on Sunday from her office, she drew attention to the delayed arrival of both police and ambulance services to the crime scene at approximately 05am in the Saamstaan residential area. According to a report from the Namibian Police Force, the victim, Lena Williams, purportedly suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by her 26-year-old ex-boyfriend, who is also the father of their three-year-old daughter. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Williams was pronounced dead upon arrival.
