The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa has announced initiation schools will not operate before the elections on 29 May. CONTRALESA’s president, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena, told the media initiates will have time to vote, as there are no special provisions for them. Mokoena also said law enforcement officials are on high alert to prevent any schools from operating prematurely. He urges parents to seek permits for initiation schools and avoid sending their children if no permits are provided:
