U.S and Chinese defence chiefs talk for first time in more than 2 years

U.S Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has spoken to China’s defense minister in the first engagement the two have had in more than a year. The return of military-to-military contact is the latest in a series of improved contacts between the U.S and China since the summit between President Joseph Biden and President Xi Jinping last November followed, two weeks ago, by a phone call.
