Nippon Steel faces presidential opposition to U.S Steel takeover

Nippon steel’s $14 billion acquisition of U.S Steel is coming under increased scrutiny as U.S President Joseph Biden vows to block the deal. The Japanese company has responded to opposition from both Biden and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump by saying the purchase would benefit US workers.
