UNESCO launched projects in 10 African journalism schools, benefiting over 735 students, 556 journalists, and 123 educators. These initiatives aimed to strengthen journalism training, focusing on areas like data journalism, environmental reporting, gender diversity in news, media sustainability, and marginalized community coverage. The projects also enhanced capacity and expertise among faculty members. Aside from schools from Namibia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa and Eswatini participated.
