Water extraction and weight of buildings see half of China’s cities sink

A new satellite assessment suggests that nearly half the land under major cities in China are sinking caused by human activity. In coastal cities, this subsidence threatens millions of people with flooding as sea levels rise. Laura Westbrook reports from Hong Kong.
