Minister of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta, unveiled the country’s inaugural Polyethylene Terephthalate Plastic Recycling Plant in Okahandja. A collaboration between Namibia Polymer Recyclers and Coca-Cola Beverages Africa aims to combat plastic waste by processing up to 500 tons of PET material monthly. Shifeta highlighted the plant’s role in reducing plastic pollution, fostering economic opportunities, and promoting sustainable business environments. He emphasized the importance of waste management practices like recycling, reusing, and reducing consumption for a greener future.
