President Mbumba Affirms Commitment to Workers’ Welfare and Economic Progress

President Nangolo Mbumba, represented by Deputy Prime Minister John Mutorwa, highlighted the government’s focus on pro-worker policies at the Workers’ Day event in Rundu. He emphasized the importance of a national minimum wage and efforts to safeguard workers’ rights. Despite economic challenges, Mbumba outlined initiatives like the United Nations Global Accelerator of Jobs and Social Protection program and the development of the Third National Employment Policy. He also mentioned the emergence of new industries like Green Hydrogen and oil and gas, stressing the need for workers to adapt for upcoming job opportunities.
