Memorial Service Held for Slain Student at Sarusungu Combined School

Sarusungu Combined School in the Kavango East Region mourned the tragic death of 21-year-old Theresia Siwombe, allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend. Siwombe, a Grade 11 learner, was fatally stabbed on April 25. The memorial saw emotional tributes from students and staff, with counselors urging children not to be raised on the streets and to speak out against abuse. They emphasized seeking help from school counselors, gender-based violence centers, or trusted individuals. The school also called for support and love for both boys and girls to prevent future tragedies.
