Thousands of protestors have joined pro-democracy demonstrations in Berlin in support of a politician who was attacked on Friday. The assault on the centre-left social democrat has been condemned across the political spectrum, including from centre-left Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Conservative opposition leader.
