The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) is proud to host the third edition of the FinTech Square event scheduled for 30 and 31 May 2024 under the theme FinTech

Unleashed: Showcasing Innovation at the Square.

FinTech Square, known as the NAMFISA Innovation Station, is a platform designed to explore the world of Financial Technology (FinTech) within the Namibian Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI) sector. It connects NAMFISA with innovators, consumers, industry players and regulatory authorities who are at the forefront of innovation, technological and digital advancements.

NAMFISA’s CEO, Mr Kenneth S. Matomola, stated that the FinTech Square’s mission is to advance digital innovation for greater financial inclusion in Namibia’s Non-Bank Financial Institutions sector, as well as enhancing efficiency and sustainability in fulfilling NAMFISA’s mandate.

“The FinTech Square is in line with one of our strategic themes of innovation that encourages technology adoption and embracing new technologies, both within NAMFISA and across NBFI sectors”, he added.

The first day of the event is by invite only but will be streamed live on NAMFISA’s social media platforms and will include remarks and presentations by various stakeholders in the Namibian FinTech ecosystem, such as CRAN and NAMFISA. Furthermore, three Namibian FinTechs will present their experiences in their journey of innovations within the NBFI sector, of which two will be the current participants in the NAMFISA Regulatory Sandbox. It is worth noting that on the second day, which is open to the public and streamed live on NAMFISA’s social media pages, the public will see presentations and discussions from international FinTechs and public institutions such as BIPA and NIPDB. Furthermore, academia, such as UNAM and NUST and many more, will share their initiatives in promoting FinTech in Namibia.

The team at NAMFISA is eager and excited to welcome all to this momentous event on 30 and 31 May 2024. All are welcome to attend on Day 2, Friday, 31 May 2024 at the Windhoek Country Club, starting at 08:00.
