Rundu Residents Threaten Protest Over Water Woes

Residents of Ndama’s Suncity and Long to Long informal settlements in Rundu are planning a protest on 4th June if their water issues remain unresolved. At a recent meeting, spokesperson David Nekaro urged the Rundu Town Council to restore water within seven days, highlighting that the residents have been without water since September last year. The affected residents have faced hardships, resorting to cutting municipal pipes and traveling long distances to fetch water, putting them at risk, especially at night. Despite attempts to engage the council, no fruitful discussions have been held, according to Nekaro.
